Attention all Perthites!

https://www.reddit.com/r/perth/comments ... e_airport/

And so we bid a fond farewell to a safe, easily accessible and affordable WA motorsport venue. Irony is that the ground is located in an industrial area between our International/ Domestic Airport and a large train shunting yard (which apparently make no noise at all)! #-o

RIP.

Such a shame that this can happen.
Perth really needs more motorsports venues, not less.

I invite all of you to enter the National Motorkhana Championship which happens to be the last event here, ever.

I don't think its the closing because of noise, more likely Perth city counsel is loosing to much revenue from street racers while track/facility is open for business.
I agree 100% more track facility's for the grass roots of motorsport not less. Give us all, young and old with slightest of race tendencies somewhere affordable to go.

Every area should have such a complex for driver training as part of licensing, demerit point etc. etc. One needs to just look around when on the road, then you realize just how much we need them. Every suburb has a pool, footy field's........ and more.

Perthinites will have to get used to the trip down to Collie motorplex in the near future, good for Collie, big loss for Perth & grassroots Motorsport.

Bring back "built in the shed" racer, not all can afford v8 supercars.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country the exact opposite is taking place!

Rather than close a racing venue at an airport, Brisbane (unlike Perth) is going to build a brand new one!

Adelaide is doing the same. Although it has taken some extremely rich racers to do it themselves.
