RedlineGTi is invited to display as a group/club or to compete in the Motorkhana
Check out the website for information -

The 2014 Motors in Motion at the Kingaroy Airport, 25th October, will be a huge collection of everything with motors.

Up in the sky there will be...

An aircraft flyin with a range of vintage, veteran and unique aircraft including helicopters
Joy flights with some will be also available
Precision flying display by remote model aircraft, controlled by Australia's best, will be seen over the airstrip

On the ground...

Cars, cars and more cars
Vintage, veteran, classic, muscle, hot rods and race cars
Caravans
Boats
Project cars
Bitumen Motorkhana Course (situated between two aircraft hangers)
Display of drift cars in action
Car and bike dyno operating to check your horsepower
Showcase of motorbikes including vintage, veteran, classic, road, trials and race on display
Show and shine for motorbikes (making it's debut) with great prizes available
Test your driving skill in the race car and track simulator

If you enjoy tractors, trucks, stationary engine then there will be plenty for you to see too. A lot of these machines will be running on the day, along with steam traction engines under full steam.

For the tractor revhead, a local V8 tractor sled pull will be in action in the purpose setup arena.

Motokhana, Show & Shine - What you need to know and subject to change as I get more details:
Black strip at the top of the picture is the Motokhana site, cars at the bottom of the picture are the Show & Shine display cars.
To enter the Motorkhana, you need a minimum of CAMs L2NS license
Free to display cars (but it will still cost you $5.00 to enter the site)
Dyno will cost per run ($50 last year) - not sure if they can cope with FWD cars.
2013 saw the first Motorkhana run for the 27L V12 Railton - bit of luck it will be there again

Hope that's not a Jabaru. Couple of engine failures recently. They do a hard park when the engine stops [-o<
Should be some home built / experimental planes here and a Pits Special or two, couple of warbirds and the odd bi-plane.

Just looked at the tail - it is a Jabaru. Only joking - they already know why both crashed and it wasn't a plane fault.

I'm well aware Jabs, they do have a crazy bad reputation....some of it is from the early days and some of it is current and very founded. I refuse to fly a jab with over 500 hours on the engine and recently my "rule" actually proved true for me - I flew a j120 on a few cross country flights and after one of the flights I realised the engine hours were over the 500 marks......I started flying something else and about 2 months later the engine went tight (noticed during a pre flight inspection) and the engine has been removed and will be completely rebuilt (crank case through bolts went loose and allowed the crank case to miss align.)

I have access to a Rotax powered Jabiru (which is my preference) and a Foxbat ( also Rotax)

I don't know if the Railton will make an appearance again this year. Below are some of the spec's from its Leyburn debut. It's the size of a small truck, 27 Litre V12 engine, 850HP and it does the same Motohkana course we run the GTi's on. It'll use more fuel to start than we will probably use all day.

MONSTER TANK-POWERED SPECIAL TO DEBUT AT LEYBURN

TAKE one World War 2 Centurion tank engine, an old truck chassis and a few miscellaneous bits and you have a Darling Downs farmer’s hair-raising entry in next month’s Leyburn Sprints for historic and classic cars.

Graham Copeland’s 1934 Railton Rolls-Royce Special is the product of his grand obsession to re-create a racing car on the lines of the machines that competed on England’s famous Brooklands banked track in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

It’s a monster of mind-boggling proportions.
The engine is a 27-litre, V12-cylinder Rolls-Royce Meteor. It produces an estimated 850 horsepower (634 kiloWatts) and torque of 1250 foot-pounds (1700 Newtonmetres).

How powerful is that? A Holden Commodore V6 produces 185 kW and 290 Nm.

The 4.7 metre beast theoretically is capable of 160 miles an hour (257 kmh) – but Copeland says it won’t go far because it drinks petrol at the rate of one litre every 600 metres and the power will shred its tyres long before they wear out.

My GTi is still on stands in the shed - not ready. I won't be running in the Autocross event this time. Next target is the Street Sprint in June. Car is better set up for sprints anyway.

Ben - with so many people at the event it will be pure luck to run in to you. I'll keep an eye out though.
