The track is booked, and date is a long way off to get your cars up and running. This first post will be updated as time goes on and more gets sorted. Like the banner that's being made while i type.

The date has been chosen the week before Jamboree, if people wanted to compete at both events and make one trip. Most years at jamboree we have around 6 suzuki swifts entering, the pricing at Jamboree its cheaper to run your car than to spectate with 2 people, as with your entry the passenger gets in free, which is why most just run there cars for the fun of it and its not taken too competitive between the suzuki boys.

This is not just a track racing event, you will be able to cruise the track with your mates, have a few races, no need for safety gear for the cruising a layed back event. We have the driver training area all morning where we will have a few small tracks to play on, and anyone who wants to test how strong there gear box is can skid till something breaks, with people able to get nice and close for a photo before something lets go. I was also going to run a sprint session for the late arvo for the people who want to push 100% around the track and maybe a short standing drag race along the main straight if there is enough interest, but i think the cruising will sort most.

Happy Laps - Queensland Raceway

Description:
A chance to get out on track for a fun cruise and have some fun, bit of spirited driving is allowed but it is still an event on a race track so a few rules need to be followed.

Requirements:
1. Participants must meet minimum age requirements for being on track. Minimum age: 12yrs old.
2. No overtaking in the first 2 laps.
3. The overtaking car is responsible for completing the overtaking move safely.
4. Overtaking is only permitted on straights, unless clearly waved passed by the car in front.
5. Overtaking move must be completed well before the end of the straight, and the car being overtaken must be given plenty of room.
6. Cars should not be more than 2 abreast at any point on the track.
7. Be aware of cars around you, in front and behind (and beside when being overtaken).
8. Do not assume that the car in front of you knows you are there.
9. Helmets not required, passengers welcome.

Sprint Racing

For Sprints/Racing
1. ABS & SRS systems may be disconnected at the driver’s option
2. Drivers must wear non-flammable clothing that fully covers the body from ankle to wrist to neck
3. If vehicle is road registered or road registerable must meet the roadworthy requirements of Qld Transport
4. If vehicle is not road registerable it must meet the applicable Racing Car standards below
5. Fire extinguishers, when fitted, must meet AS1841 standard and be secured to ensure they cannot injure the driver in the
event of an accident.
6. Tyres must be fit for purpose, not recut or retreaded, and be fitted to rim widths that comply with the Tyre and Rim Association manual and/or ADR requirements
7. Rear facing red lights for use during rain must be fitted.
8. Helmets must comply with, or exceed, the standards AS1698.

If your coming from anywhere out side QLD its free for the effort in turning up, but if you happy to still pay and help out its welcome. A BBQ will be ran and money from entry will pay for food and drink, during the day.

I have Fire response units turning up as well as Medical response as you can tell im not fooling around on safety all the money out of my own pocket, so don't bring a car that not safe or half assed.

For an event this size, i need helpers. Post up if your willing to help out time to time during the day, and if you have something that might be cool for the event i have not thought off. Some event photographers have confirmed there attendance for a few magazines.

Awards and prizes will be handed out at the end of day, best swift, best show, best new swift, fastest so on.

Price for the Day will be $30 with some events like the sprint needing a AASA License for $30 for the day.

This may change at any time.

8.00am – 830am Setup.
8.00am – 1000am Scrutineering.
800am – 1000am Licences.
830am – 1230pm Large driving area, short track, driving challenges
1200pm – 100pm Bqq
1230pm – 1240pm Results for show cars
100pm – 300pm Happy laps/Cruising the track.
300pm – 500pm Sprint racing.

Maybe you could of called it "Attack of the killer Hatches" no wait I think I'll register that name...

If Landers going to turn up in his old car then count me in from across the 'diiitch' (thats for Pictureshowman)

Sounds like it will be an awesome event, Kudos Dan.

just a quick question. for the all out racing part is there going to be any kind of lap timing? and ill be able to help out with anything - if im coming up it wont just be for a day.

i was also thinking instead of just hitting the track maybe the day before everyone can meet up at someones house and we could all chat, meet new faces, service and wash the cars for the next day and maybe go for a cruise around. just an idea.

I asked in the previous thread but never got a yay or nay. Am I welcome to come by on the day as an old member of the redline community? I'd love to have a track bash on the day before my birthday [-o<

Pitsworth Street Sprints are on over this weekend, including Friday night.
Perhaps a group may be interested in a cruise up there to spectate?
Unfortunatey for me, this means I have to choose between the two.... : (
