Guys,

Its been a while, got myself a SX4.

A knob stole my bag with key in it, and I manage to not spend $400 for a new key/transponder key.

Has anyone come across this programming working?

2008 SX4 (REMOTE Programming, NOT transponder duhh!)

1. Remove key from ignition switch.
2. Close all doors.
3. Open drivers door
4. Insert key and turn to ON position and within 10 seconds turn key off and remove key.
5. Within 20 seconds Close and open drivers door 3 times.
6. Insert key and turn to ON position and within 10 seconds turn key off and remove key.
7. Locks should now lock and unlock automatically to confirm you have entered programming mode.
8. Press the UNLOCK button on remote and locks should cycle to confirm programming.
9. Repeat step 8 on each additional remote.
10. Exit vehicle with keys and remote, close door test remote(s).

CAN a person with a genuine SX4 key, open it up for me and send an image of the transponder, as located from the image!!? (I would really appreciate it!)

Something does not sounds right in that procedure? The fact you dont require a original which would make it easy to re-code keys for any slim jim!

as explained, the above procedure comes from the service manual, but its for the "remote" part of the key, not the transponder... I am after the right transponder for and origina SX4 key, anyone care to provide an actual photo?

Most transponders look similar, but my suspicion was the locksmith gave me an ID 46 on normally for swifts and I need an ID 40 which from reading seems to be for SX4 :(

Id 46 is actually correct for SX4s 2006-2009!

The car is now running, locksmith managed to surpass the dealer(couldn't program it!) and program it!

BUT, The remote procedure mentioned above does not work! Any ideas??
