I don't believe that to be the case.

Was the car you saw red?

As far as I am aware the only Baleno in there was mine and it isn't a GTX.

My car does have GTX spec brakes... but it has no GTX bodykit and is only a 1.6

I should really sit down and work that out, at a guess between $2k and $3k.

The internals are stock. When I get the car finished I'll make a posting with pics and info.

Yes, it is my car I assure you. :)
BTW my car is still there having a few final things done to it while I am in Melbourne for work for a few weeks.

I have downloaded a few pics to my laptop.
Now who can I email the pics to so they can be put on this website?
They are around 1.8mb each so they are large.

Regards,
Damian

And does your car have a J18 in it? and are they building an entirely new kit for it? I'm not stupid, there is a GTX Baleno being turbo'd at suzitech at the moment and it's not your car because yours is not a GTX, I also saw your car there too. Ask pete when you pick yours up. There's also another GTX in the queue to be turbo'd

No worries,
I am sure you aren't stupid. 8)
No offence intended... I was just totally unaware of them having a red GTX Baleno in the shop let alone the plans of turboing one.

Is interesting to hear about this red turbo GTX Baleno.
I look forward to seeing it when I pick my car up again.

Cheers,
Damian

Wasn't that messy at all, just made some brackets up. I'll take some pics of it if I remember.

Thanks for posting Akil.

What final things are being done to it.. you aren't chasing more boost already are you?
Was the final price what you were expecting?

Good to see Baleno's getting the boost treatment too. Both setups look pretty similar, thanks for the photos :D

Hi Sam,
I picked the car up only a few days before my work sent me away for another 4 weeks mainly so I could enjoy / road test the car and put a few kms on it before returning it for the final installment. It has taken a very long time but it is worth it I think.
When I picked up the car the boost was only set to 4psi to allow brand new turbo to have some gentle kms put on it.
I returned the car to Suzitech prior to my work trip so they have it for a few more weeks... Suits me and it suits them to finalise everything.

The Suzitech strut brace has blue bushes (as you can see in the photos) these will be changed to red ones as they weren't in stock at the time.

They will be winding the boost up to 7psi and road testing / tuning the car to ensure it is perfect upon my return.

The only minor problem I could pick with the whole job was a very minor paint blemish on the strut brace which they are reworking in this time.

Price was exactly what was quoted to me... even though my list of tasks grew a little. End price was $6000 drive in drive out for turbo.

This included: brand new Garett T25 turbo, high flow cat, flex joint, supply and fit exedy HD clutch, fit new clutch cable, fit whiteline front sway bar, supply and fit front strut brace and all the ancillaries that go with it.

I think I will be happy with the level of performance when it is done... I do mostly drive like an old man.

I have to think about gearbox preservation as well.

Regards,
Damian

I have to admit, my design was based on the one from SuziTech.

No offence taken :)
yeah I saw it when I was last in there last and I was chatting to pete about it, it's the first GTX they've done and it's created alot of interest and it's not even finished yet.
