Having completed my GTi engine conversion into mh barina 5door, I have a Gti bootlid spoiler that I want to fit to the barina. The tailagates are a different shape, so I was wondering if anyone
has managed to fit one to a barina/swift 5door and if so, how?. I want to make it look factory so no ugly metal brackets seem suitable. Just sitting it on there it fouls on the roof when tailgate opened and the washer jet wont spray on the rear screen. All I have come up with so far is a couple of pieces of nylon(bread board type of thing) wear pads (from a skip bin garbage truck body) which I am thinking of cutting, sanding and painting then sikaflexing or screwing onto tailgate then onto spoiler. However this will be tedious and time consuming and I'm sure there must be a better, easier or different way to do this. Any help or advice/recommendations would be appreciated,
Cheers, Mac

Thanks to all who offered help with my bootlid spoiler on the 5 door barina. I ended up making moulds out of resin and stuck them to the car and the spoiler to them. It looks great now, kind of how I imagine a 5door gti should look from factory, on the right angle and no cutting and drilling needed. I'll put up photos when I work out how.

Resize the photos....only allowed relatively small attachment sizes in terms of kilobytes. Then you will have no probs.

Hi 5-door (don't know your name),

just wondering how the (GTI boot lid) spoiler turned out?

Cheers.

Hey mate, I got the spoiler done, made moulds to stick to the car and then stick the spoiler to them. It was full of mistakes and pain but I got it done and didn't have to cut anything down and it looks good now. I will try to put a picture. I have not been on here for ages and just saw your inquiry, sorry for lack of response, life got in the way!.
Mac
