Hi,

Seen a few posts on service costs but curious to know what anyone has paid recently for a 15,000K service on a new model Swift?

Have been quoted $320 which seems a lot for an filter and oil change? The dealer even admitted it was so "cheap" because they don't have to do much at the 15,000Km service...

cheers!

so far.....three different dealers and some very different prices!

Dealer 1
$255 - semi-synthetic oil
$285 - full synthetic oil

Dealer 2
$260 - no idea on the oil but guessing semi

Dealer 3
$325 - no free lube for the wallet!

My Dad's 1 year old Holden Commodore - $160!

Anyone know a good qualified mechanic in Sydney that charges realistic prices and knows new model Suzuki's???

cheers!

Okay, I'll take it then that everyone just sucks it up and pays through the nose to service a now very common and comparatively cheap car at way overinflated prices!

I'll let ya know if I find a better deal!

Theres a few other threads about how much servicing costs, different milage. 15000 if i remember correctly is nothing more than an oil/filter change.

Try somewhere like ultratune. Any registered mechanic in NSW can do it really without voiding your warranty.

Thanks, I did read the other threads but could not find anything specific to the 15,000K service and expected/realistic costs.

I am considering using a non-Suzuki dealer for the service but was concerned about whether they would have the appropriate ECU connections and software to check the car out fully.

From what I can see it is a two hour service requiring Oil, filter and gasket. Based on that $325 is way over the top and I certainly won't be going to the dealer I bought the car from.

cheers!

Well, do you feel that there is something wrong with the car? Coz if theres nothing wrong then chances are there won't be anything needed to diagnose.

Good point I guess! No I don't feel anything is wrong with the car in general.

Coming from a IT techy background I guess I figured if the ECU is there, and it might point towards potential problems that you can't "feel" then it would be a useful tool to employ...
