Ive got three or four new swift diffs out of boxes so for me to fit it into your box would cost $450 includeing the new diff.

If the problem is the diff it will have constant symptoms in all gears and when coasting in neutral. If it is something else in the box then the symptoms will usually be in some gears but not all.

In the end it makes no difference if the problem is the diff or something else in the box, because the whole thing has to be stripped down and repaired or replaced anyway, so the box has to come out no matter what the problem is.

it does it in any gear with or without the clutch engaged

The diff is part of the gearbox champ.

Sounds like all you want the cheapest alternative. Buy a second hand box and inherit somebody elses problems. Remember youll pay to have it fitted... see daves quote for labour as a guide...

can anyone tell me for the gearbox to come out of a 05 swift do you have to remove the engine or can it be done without taking out the engine

im looking at getting my gearbox replaced and the work shop said they have to drop the box and motor

to drop the old one and install a new one they want $850 just in labour does this sound right

Dude that is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. I thought the $850 INCLUDED the box.

I've got a box you can have for $250. I'll bring it to you THIS weekend - or at least I'll bring it to Sydney. $270 to your door (and yes it's from a 1.5L manual.)
