hey all just a quick query to see what setups people are running in there GTi's around the places...

in my swift i have this
KDC-9023R: CD MP3 WMA Receiver KDC-9023R Kenwood head unit this can do everything you want and more... RRP $1400

Schneider 6 1/2" splits in the front doors run bridged off a 400 Watt amp

2 JBL 12" GT4 1000 watt series subs running bridged of my US AUDIO 900watt amp. The subs are placed in the boot with a custom made cover board to make sure no air enters or escapes the hatch so most sound is produced. parcel shelf is removed with no rear speakers(i feel sorry for passengers with just BASS hehe)

Although this amp is no where near big enough for the subs themselves it still makes the subs loud enough to be heard a few blocks away :D hehe you gotta love that especially at night...

JUst got to wait for a sound off to see what DB readout i get
anywya would love to hear that u people got in there and if anyone got any ideas about mine feel free to ask and ill get pics soon

Here's my setup It's basic but does the trick.

Deck: Sony explode

Fronts: Pioneer 6 inch three ways

Rears: Pioneer 2way 6x9's

Subs: 2 x Alpine type S 12inch subs

Amps: Alpine MRV 350 didgital monoblock
some old soundstream amp running the 6x9's

Loudest I've got out of it so far is 135.6 db but I'm yet to use a test tone and play with the gains so I recon theirs a bit more in it yet

mmmm yeah that would put out a great note :D hehe

sounds like there is some good stuff goin on out there.. only thing im not sure about is worryin about rear speakers or not? if so i would have to put a parcel shelf in and the subs wouldnt have same effect

but not sure about that

Only two reasons to have speakers in the back. 1) You like the way it sounds with music coming from behind you. 2) You have passengers in the back that like the music. If you really want speakers back there you can get foam baffles to go behind them so that the sub doesn't interact with them. This will also give you the option of cutting a "blow through" on the shelf to let the bass come out and not rattle it as much.

I did a car once that had very smal custom enclosures built in the back of the front seat to hold 5 1/4" speakers. When there where passengers in the car the speakers were turned on. When there was no one they were off.

Suggestions? Hmmm. Well I'm going to be doing my doors to accept some 10" subs that will also do midbass duties to compliment my SAS 4" components that will be going back into the dash. Not sure what I'll do with my 6.5" comps but I'll think of something...

why would you put 6x9's in the front?? a decent set of splits will do the job so much better, and wont be as chunky :D
but i guess it's up to the owner!

the reason was because at the time i got a realy good deal on 2 pairs. the quality is fine and they look cool. the cones are translucent so i can back light them and they look wicked at night.
