Welcome to RedlineGTi a Suzuki online community and fan site specialising in the Swift GTi.
This website was created for Suzuki owners and enthusiasts to share information and organise events revolving around their common interest in Suzuki’s. The RedlineGTi online community was started in February 2002 as a web presence for Suzuki Swift GTi enthusiasts but has since expanded into a larger range of Suzuki motor vehicles such as the Baleno, Liana and Ignis.
Since the websites initial inception it has enjoyed huge growth throughout Australia and Internationally. This website is a forever evolving example of the RedlineGTi online community and the dedication of members.
There are no formal registration rules for joining RedlineGTi as we are not a club by definition. The RedlineGTi online community exists without hierarchy or internal structure so that all members of the forum and the site can contribute equally. If you own, or are interested in Suzuki motor vehicles please don’t hesitate to register in the forum and get to know other people in the community.

Expanding Horizons

If you have been to a Suzuki dealer recently you would have no doubt dealt with a salesperson frothing at the mouth dying to tell you two things:
1. The Suzuki Swift is selling faster than Suzuki ever expected (and you need one)
2. The new range of SX4 small cars are going to be 'the next big thing'
With this second piece of information in mind we have opened a new for SX4 owners, enthusiasts and those looking to buy. The SX4 is the vehicle that Suzuki world wide plan to carry their WRC rallying success on. With a highly publicised lead up to the car's debut documented on , there is solid proof that this car is worth getting excited about.
Locally, a new range of 2WD SX4's has been released to sit alongside the already popular SX4 AWD. The new range includes a slightly more 'street' focused SX4 hatch and surprisingly sophisticated SX4 sedan that is set to replace the Suzuki Liana.
The only piece of the SX4 puzzle that remains to be seen is a rally inspired 'Sport' variant. If the SX4 WRC rally car is proven in 2008, we're sure an SX4 Sport won't be far off... stay tuned.

Traction Warz

The domination of the quarter mile page has continued for Dave Homer (DMWDave) after his latest efforts at the Drag Warz Andra event. Driving a newly built record breaker sporting a fresh turbo setup and milder injection of nitrous, Dave headed out on street tyres to reclaim the front wheel drive Andra record. Not only did Dave manage to break the standing record, he smashed it with an E.T of 11.247, upward of .5 seconds off his previous best.
In addition to the record, Dave was awarded the Andra 2005/2006 Frontrunner National Champion award for taking out his class after the full season of racing. In the speech his dedicated sponsors Toyo, 101 Racing, GCG, Scotts Rods, Bottle Or Boost and pit crew Dan (Zuboo), Cath (Zubo3), Brad (Teddy_Tool) and Andy (Garndi) were thanked for their ongoing support and contributions to the racing effort over the season.
With the three top Suzuki forced induction street tyre times held by Dave Homer built motors, there is no denying that he can build consistently quick track proven Swifts. Rest assured he has informed us that the next step is to put the slicks back on and take aim again at the 10 second marker.

Discussion about the 'next big thing' from Suzuki has been circulating for literally months with details slowly trickling in from various sources around the world.
As of this week, solid information has finally landed in the form of Australian dealers getting their hands on the 'New Swift Sport'. The 'Swift Sport' (a truly global car) that we have received fits the bill of an upgraded New Swift, but has fallen short of a lot of expectations.
When word and sightings of the Swift Sport started to appear, photos and reviews rapidly found their way in to the . RedlineGTi.com is leading the charge with community information, feedback, photos and reviews of the new Swift Sport from members who have a genuine interest in providing unbiased 'real world' reviews on the car. If you want to find out the latest information or you are looking to buy a New Swift Sport, be sure to check out the many reviews available in the .
Suzuki Australia had an official media release earlier this week labeling the Swift Sport as a follow up to their original 'Pocket Rocket' the Swift GTi. Unfortunately, RedlineGTi.com Suzuki enthusiasts are a little more reluctant to make such a direct link so early on.

2005 was rapidly rounded off yesterday and looking back it was an extremely prosperous year for RedlineGTi.com and it's community. With the New Swift making a massive impression on the site and every second dealer (and some magazines) in Australia claiming to know the release date and specs of the 'New GTi', it is becoming very obvious that Suzuki have done something right with their latest offering and all eyes are on them to perform in 2006. RedlineGTi.com will be here in 2006 to hopefully see a solid, factual announcement from Suzuki Australia on their next Swift release.
With the forum erupting with new users in 2005, I would like to take a second to thank the moderators for maintaining order so the site can remain enjoyable and informative. There have been countless hours invested in the site by moderators and many members and I hope everyone will continue to enjoy the site and contribute well into the new year, Thankyou!
As I rarely recognise, there are many other community oriented Suzuki sites that really do deserve a mention. These sites are genuinely dedicated to providing for the greater Suzuki community.
TeamSwift – The Club for Suzuki sub-compact enthusiasts
CluBaleno - Worldwide Suzuki Baleno Enthusiasts Group
SISOC - Suzuki Ignis Sport Owners Club UK
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this community, and all the best for '06!

Broken Records
(Posted by bzchi on 10/10/05)

The last fortnight has seen some massive advances in Swift GTi performance with E.T. records being broken more regularly than gearboxes. Forum member DMWDave (Dave Homer) has edged ever closer to a monumental 10 second run by laying down an incredible 11.086 @ 130.17mph E.T. at Australia's premiere drag racing event, Jamboree in QLD. Not content just running the worlds fastest quarter mile for a Swift GTi, later that week Dave wrapped the front shoes of his GTi in the latest street legal tyres from TOYO, the R888’s and put down Australia’s fastest FWD street tyre record with 11.78 @ 130mph. If you haven't already seen the videos, the slips and the buzz it's about time you started reading the .
With more and more members of RedlineGTi.com getting genuinely serious about the cocktail of Suzuki + Motorsport it isn't hard to believe that other records are starting to fall as well. Not to be overlooked, GusGTi has broken from the norm in many ways and with his Quad TB Naturally Aspirated Swift GTi has recently succeeded in recording a Swift GTi NA record of 14.2 @ 93mph on street tyres (). To get a snapshot of the diversity of modifications and performance gains to be squeezed from the g13b, check out the Technical forums and the of the site.
With unquantifiable research, dollars and time spent on aftermarket g13b development, it is still showing amazing potential almost 20 years after its inception. This being said, the internals of a new generation of Suzuki motors have started to see the light of day. DMWDave has produced photos and dyno sheets of the worlds first New Swift Turbo. After adding a piggyback ECU to handle the positive inlet pressure, and on only mild boost, this New Swift rolled out 129.2 HP from the treads at 101 Motorcafe in QLD.
For more photos and detailed information, keep an eye on DMWDave’s .
With new car smells being quickly drowned out by the smell of custom fuel mixtures, it won't be long before the New Swift starts encroaching on the records left by its predecessor. Stay tuned.

In a definite move away from the norm for RedlineGTi.com, we have for the first time ever advertised in print (blink and you will miss it). This decision was prompted by the huge increase in Suzuki sales of late (mainly New Swift) and a growing problem of letting new Suzuki owners know that we exist. This small ad was an experiment to see if we would find more enthusiasts or a whole heap of people looking to buy cars.
To those who haven’t heard of us, we aren’t a club that charges registration and we aren’t ‘hoons’. We are a community that uses this website as a central focal point for hosting information, discussion and organisation of events. RedlineGTi.com hosts visitors from Australia and around the World and is still (after several years) seeing a steady increase in traffic.
Although the site was originally created for the Suzuki Swift GTi, over the last 12 months the community has started to expand into a wider range of Suzuki motor vehicles. We are keen to hear from all Suzuki owners young and old about experiences, likes, dislikes and what made you choose Suzuki.
If you have purchased a Suzuki lately, are looking to buy, or owned one before ‘these new fangled websites existed’, you will find a wealth of information about your Suzuki here. You will also find plenty of other owners who are just as (if not more) enthusiastic about these cars with a cult following.
So to all the people that stumbled across the ‘massive’ advertisement in your local classifieds, Welcome! Browse around and |

There has been a massive amount of news in Suzuki circles of late, mostly revolving around the Ignis Sport recall, New Swift Modifications and the New Swift GTi.
After the technical department of Suzuki Australia flat out denying a fault with the Ignis Sport only two months ago, a total back flip has seen an official recall make its way to the letterbox of many RedlineGTi.com members in the last week. The fault was originally discussed on the forum in February this year, but has only now been formalised by Suzuki Australia. The problem exists with the circlip on the offside driveshaft of some 2003 model Ignis Sports. For more details on this announcement, and the discussion leading up to the recall you can head over to the dedicated to the topic.
The New Swift has been an amazing success for Suzuki Australia, and as they announce record sales, RedlineGTi.com is receiving a massive influx of New Swift owners keen to start customising their new rides. With the New Swift's M15A responding well to modifications, many members have started to get serious about performance upgrades. For those who can't wait any longer for the New Swift GTi a modified New Swift is the next best thing. Forced induction has already hit the shopping list for many, and the first results of these projects are starting to emerge on the .
The eternal question of 'when' is still revolving around the New Swift GTi. The strongest evidence of what may become the New Swift GTi has started to crop up on the Japanese Suzuki websites. The 'Swift Sport' is a 1600cc (M16A) version of the New Swift, with modified hothatch looks and a performance upgrade to match.
This tweaked 4 door is what everyone has been waiting for and should provide a great boost to Suzuki Australia if it makes its way to our shores. Photos and growing discussion on the subject of the New Swift GTi can be found in the of the forum. |

With a slight case of MIA from RedlineGTi.com tonight, many users have entered a state of nervous unrest on par with missing a morning coffee. Rest assured we are still here, and believe it or not the changes were to enhance RedlineGTi.com and make it more accessible.
First I would like to apologise for the slight downtime for a few members as we changed some minor settings on the server. The change was scheduled for after dark but unfortunately was acted on more quickly than expected which resulted in very few people getting a chance to see the warning message in the forum. If you are reading this, welcome back and thanks for your patience.
Now for the reasons. The main reason there were changes to the server was to make way for an SSL enabled forum. This is to increase the security of your information especially when you use the RedlineGTi.com forum/website from unprotected/unencrypted public wireless access points (which are now popping up in all major cities). Whether or not anyone will actually use this still remains to be seen, but the facility will soon be there if anyone is interested in using it.
Secondly (and not directly related to the downtime) there have been additional domain names added so RedlineGTi.com will soon be accessible from the following URL's.
www.redlinegti.net
www.redlinegti.biz
www.redlinegti.org
www.redlinegti.info
These two changes are fairly minor in the scheme of things, but there will no doubt be one or two people that find them useful.
More to come in the not too distant future! |

The landscape is rapidly changing in the world of Suzuki and as a result RedlineGTi.com is forever on the back foot adapting to best represent the community. Suzuki has made the massive announcement of the 'New Swift' and the silent but definitive casting off of the less than successful (in Australia) Ignis and Ignis Sport ranges. The New Swift is a significant shift in focus for Suzuki who are no doubt looking to regain their early 90s success with the cult/RedlineGTi.com followed Swift GTi. The New Swift GTi is currently only whispers from dealers but as the ground swell grows Suzuki Australia will no doubt have to start meeting demand.
What does this mean for RedlineGTi.com? We are constantly making steps to incorporate Suzuki's evolution into our community to support the successful cars of the past as well as the new cars on the horizon. The RedlineGTi.com forum has recently had a major shakeup and restructure to battle growing pains. Not only have we opened spaces for the 'New Swift' and 'Ignis Sport' we have created ample space for expansion into the future with other models. To cope with the member growth there has also been an increase in moderators to keep everything running smoothly.
With a different generation gaining access to the cult classic Swift GTi, the dynamic of the forum is always shifting. The forum now represents a massive resource for Suzuki enthusiasts of all ages and technical abilities.
Changes to some of the more 'ingrained' pages will be taking place over the next few months to make sure the information on all the RedlineGTi.com pages will stay relevant and beneficial. If you have comments or suggestions please let us know. |

Annual Update
(Posted by bzchi on 03/06/04)
|
|
 |
|
Another annual post for the news section, the first for the year (and it's June?).
As usual my apologies for not updating this news section, the fact that there is so much other work happening on the site isn't very well reflected on this front page. If you are worried the site has slowed down, don't be because it is bigger than ever!
There have been a few major changes to the site over the last 6 months. The greatest addition to the site and the code that holds it all together is the Personal Gallery section. This section allows users of the forum to upload their own images of cars, cruises and Swift related material in general. Although these pages aren't openly advertised elsewhere outside of the forum (will soon be more integrated in to the site), they are some of the most active pages on the site. To have a look at what people are up to head over to the home page. If you ever need to find the Personal Gallery section a link can be found at the top of the page.
The section has finally floated and is looking largely different to what was originally intended. The Magazine articles have been removed because of copyright issues as well as lack of co-operation from magazines (which is understandable). The article section is currently made up of 4 articles that were contributed to the article competition that was run late 2003. These articles have found large amounts of positive feedback on the forums which gives the indication that the article section will only grow from here on.
The third major update on the agenda is the page. With a large amount of focus on the forum slowly shifting in the direction of the performance side of modifying there are more and more members heading down to their local quarter mile (if only Canberra's government wasn't all talk). The quarter mile page was initiated by a thread in the members forum and brought in contributions from all around Australia. QLD are leading fairly easily at the moment but as word spreads, groups of people are heading out to get a slip and their name on the list. If you need information about how to join in the action head over to the QM Times page (organised and managed by forum member ).
Overall RedlineGTi continues to grow faster than expected. The website has changed webserver for a third time due to the massive increase of users. Our latest webserver should last us for a relatively decent amount of time but no one can really predict the growth that is on the horizon.
Last of all for this post, thanks to everyone who has bought to show their support for the site. Nothing is more refreshing than being in another state and seeing a GTi drive past wearing a RedlineGTi.com sticker! |

I won't spend time this news post explaining why there hasn't been an updated in ages, but with christmas looming and everything that has been going on there just hasn't been time.
The club as a whole has been doing everything as usual, cruising, chatting, getting together it just seems that the numbers are steadily growing and so is the enthusiasm. The forum has taken off at a speed I could not have expected and the entire club now revolves around the discussion generated in the forum. I will admit there has been the odd growing pain but nothing that has slowed us down in the slightest.
Over the last few months there has been heaps of cruising and even more organising of events. Coming up is the QLD 4 Cruise and for the new year there is the largest GTi cruise we have ever held set over the 17th and 18th of January in Canberra (People from 5 states are already pegged to come along!). Thanks to everyone that has spent time organising cruises and getting events organised in the various states, without you guys the site would be no where near as successful and we wouldn't have so many crazy cars showing interest in the club and the site.
Speaking of the site there have been quite a few changes (although not all finalised) to the site design and layout. There is now a media page that has all the videos from the various cruises so they are in a simple spot for download. There has also been the addition of the personal gallery pages which are going through testing stages at the moment but are proving to be a massive success.
On top of all the change we have had a DVD created by a Victorian member Droo as well as the second order for seat covers being constructed (after the original success of the first round of covers) and there is now talk of even more merchandise in the new year. Thanks to everyone involved in these bulk purchases and thanks to everyone buying stickers and showing their support. Over 40 stickers moved in this month alone!
Just to round off this update, thanks to all the positive comments in the wider community coming from other car enthusiast sites. We are always trying to represent our area of the car scene as best we can and its excellent to see other car clubs going strong with their own like minded enthusiasts.
Thanks everyone, time to get the finishing touches completed on my car so I can be back out cruising! |
